Working Day

So today is a full blown work day! Uploading and blogging followed by painting! I am not doing any housework or errands until after I get in a solid five hours. I am the type that really thrives with a scheduled time to work. I don't always create. Sometimes the day is spent with business such as photos, inventory, organizing, and networking. That is very important! I know, some are rolling their eyes at the monotony, but hear me out. The time I spend getting the tasks done, the more freedom I have to create when the mood strikes me. It is much easier to run to a clean, organized space to start sketching/painting/creating where you know where exactly everything you need is. It is much easier to send email portfolios if you have your images uploaded and organized. It is much easier to apply for gallery shows and festivals if you have a current in-stock inventory. It is boring, but it's also incredibly necessary if you want to thrive in your business. So let me get back to my business so I can get back to my art. But don't worry, I have play days too!

A good day

I spent the day filling out applications for upcoming gallery shows and planning a meeting with a museum art buyer. Planning on painting later, or at the least, sketching. Tomorrow I will be working on the resume' and taking the first of my online drawing/animation classes. Finally starting to get over that overwhelmed feeling and moving into the "I'm really doing this" phase.
